Day two

Three new classes started today, C programming, Intro to Software Engineering and Intro to Data Communications & Computer Networks. After the first lectures, they all great. Especially the Data Comm & Networks surprised me with a really inspiring lecturer.

I still have two new classes that haven't started yet, Operating Systems and Multimedia Technology. I'm a bit afraid about the OS course. I'll probably drop Multimedia and take it next year even though it's probably the one of the easiest classes I'm taking but I just have way too many classes even without it and I can't attend its lectures because Japanese is at the same spot. Also because it's an easy course, it won't be a burden to take later.

So it begins again

First day of this semester and I'm still pretty excited. The classes that began today all seem pretty nice, especially the introductory database class seems great. It's pretty easy stuff and the lecturer is great. He seems like a dry middleaged man but is actually really enthusiastic and funny.

I just realized why my neck is so sore. I moved back to my student apartment yesterday and dragged a huge load of stuff with me and had to walk quite a bit with the heavy, not so well balanced load. Oh well, it's nothing bad, just a bit of an annoyance. More tomorrow.

The holidays are almost over

This the last week of the Christmas break. I don't know if I've managed to really enjoy the break but at least I'm looking forward to starting the studies again. I wonder if I'm killing myself with the workload as I decided to take two more classes: Database Management and Introduction to Telecommunications. If I can get through all the courses I should have my general studies and programme studies completed and then I can begin to plan what to major in (well I think I should start planning that earlier, maybe during the semester).

Running woes

I have to start running again because feeling totally out of shape. I went for a run last Thursday for the first time in about a month and I'm still a bit sore from it. I got the cold once again about a month ago and then the finals came so I guess those were good enough excuses to avoid exercising.

I wrote earlier that a two week pause didn't really affect my performance but last week, after the month of slacking, it was pure agony. It wasn't that cold outside, about -3.5 degrees Celsius (25.7 degrees Fahrenheit) but there was a nasty wind, it was slippery and I was so out of breath but I managed to finish my normal route so I was pretty satisfied with that. I hope it'll be a bit easier today.

Update:
Phew, I did it :) Wasn't easy but not as bad as the last time so I think I'll get back on the routine again.
